Who can participate?

Anyone interested in learning more about the basics of hydrogen technologies for energy purposes and the latest developments in their entry into the economy and transport can participate in the course. We welcome undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students; high school, university, and CTE faculty; engineers and technical staff; people in administrative and management positions in the public and private sectors.

Why participate?

- Hydrogen is seen as the clean fuel of the future and a key pillar in delivering the EU Green Deal and the sustainable energy plans of the global economy

- By 2030, Europe's need for skilled personnel in renewable energy and hydrogen will grow significantly, especially in areas designated as hydrogen valleys.

- The National Hydrogen Roadmap, adopted in 2023, outlines the imminent need to find concrete solutions for the introduction of hydrogen technologies in Bulgaria.

- The course "Hydrogen Energy", developed for training under the Bulgarian programme of Green Skills for Hydrogen, is a first step towards qualification and re-qualification in the innovative area of hydrogen energy.

- Hydrogen in energy

- Hydrogen in transport

- Safety in handling hydrogen

- Hydrogen economics

- Hydrogen initiatives and regulatory framework in the EU and Bulgaria

Practical training on

- Production of green hydrogen by electrolysis of water

- Electrochemical compression of hydrogen

- Generation of electricity in a fuel cell

- Demonstration and training with the Hyundai Nexo hydrogen car

- Test driving a hydrogen car

The working language of the course is Bulgarian.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Participation in the course is free of charge.

To apply for the course, please fill in and submit the form by following the LINK. You will receive confirmation of your enrollment in the course personally via email within four business days of submitting your request.

Deadline for requesting participation: 16 March 2025.

The maximum number of course participants is 60. Registration will be terminated in advance in case the maximum number of course participants is filled.

Accommodation and travel expenses:

The course organisers make NO commitment regarding accommodation, travel and subsistence expenses of the course participants. Refreshments (coffee, tea and water) and snacks will only be provided during breaks between lectures.
